When the Block Arcade was finally open around 1853, news travelled fast & people came from far & wide to see this magnificent building with its mosaic tiled floor. Along with the Artisans who travelled from Italy were their precious cargo of the mosaic tiles that have stood the test of time.
"Doing the Block' was the saying when people dressed in their finery & walked the block of Collins & Elizabeth streets to be seen.
This is an original painting of mixed media including collage, transfers, acrylic and oil paint on premium quality watercolour paper. Price is unframed but framing & mount (as seen) can be arranged
